This month, we’ve asked Chad, Sales Manager for Judd & Black, to answer questions about what it’s like to shop at a Judd & Black Appliance Store. Chad is an appliance expert who has been with Judd & Black for over 25 years. He currently specializes in assisting builders and designers with appliance needs and works to train others at Judd & Black. To say that Chad knows appliances is an understatement. Fun Fact: Chad’s dad also worked with the company for 46 years!
What is Judd & Black known for?
Chad: We’re expert appliance professionals. We service what we sell with our in-home repair service. When you reach out to Judd & Black, you’ll get a real human to give you real answers – in-store and on the phone. That doesn’t always happen at the big box stores.
What is it like to shop at a Judd & Black Appliance Store?
Chad: When you visit a Judd & Black store, you can see our best-selling brands (over 30 brands on display!) and work with an experienced appliance expert to find the right appliance for your home. It’s not always easy to figure out what to buy, and we want you to know that we are here to help.
Where is Judd & Black?
Chad: There are five showroom locations in northwest Washington: Bellingham, Mount Vernon, Everett, Marysville & Lynnwood. We also have a Liquidation Center and Distribution Warehouse in Everett.
What should I bring with me to the store?
Chad: One of the most helpful things to bring is measurements (height, width, and depth.) Not only for the dimensions of the appliance you are replacing but also the space that it goes into. If you can, take pictures of the room and appliance location. You should also have a budget and bring info for any specific brands/models you’re interested in.
Will I browse the store on my own? Or can someone assist me?
Chad: Whatever your preference. You are welcome to check out the showroom, but please know that our team is truly there to help. We have excellent staff at all our locations with years of experience and know what questions to ask you so we can narrow the choices down to the best possible options for you. Whether you’re a blank slate or have an exact model number in hand, need one appliance, or a suite of them, working with an appliance expert at Judd & Black can usually save you time, money, and frustration.
Do you offer sale prices or price-match other stores?
Chad: Yes, Judd & Black offers sales and special offers on various appliances throughout the year. We also have access to exclusive rebates that the chain stores don’t get. Let us know if you’ve shopped somewhere else and found the appliance at a lower price. We usually can price match on the same brand and model.
Once I’ve purchased an appliance, how do I get it home, and how long will it take?
Chad: Judd & Black has a full warehouse of available inventory. If it’s in stock, you can take it with you or get it delivered as soon as the same day in some cases. If it needs to be ordered, we’re glad to say that supply chain issues seem to be easing up, but check with us to get more information about your purchase.
Who will deliver and install it?
Chad: For items like refrigerators, washers and dryers, electric ranges, and BBQs, the deliveries and installations are made by a team of Judd & Black employees in Judd & Black trucks. For dishwashers and gas-related items with more complicated installs, deliveries are by Judd & Black, and we use a trusted partner for installation services.
Is there something you wish people knew about Judd & Black?
Chad: I’d say the people at Judd & Black make all the difference. For over 80 years and four generations, the employees at our locations in Snohomish, Skagit, and Whatcom counties have gone above and beyond to create a positive shopping experience for our customers.
